The Spartanburg County Public Libraries are sponsoring the 11th Annual Juried Exhibition that will be on display from September 10 – December 4, 2024. This competition is open to artists age 18 and older, professional or amateur, who reside in North Carolina or South Carolina. All work must be original and created within the past 5 years and not previously shown at the library (see the prospectus below for eligibility and requirements). Entries may be submitted through our online entry form below that will open July 1st and continue through July 31st.
Juror: Freda Sue
A Taiwanese native, Freda Sue’s work explores her cross-cultural identity through a fusion of Eastern and Western artistic traditions in printmaking, painting and installation. Her work is exhibited internationally, from the cultural hub of Tavernes de la Valldigna in Spain, to the dynamic streets of Tainan and Taipei and New York City. Sue serves as an Assistant Professor and the Foundations Coordinator at the University of South Carolina Upstate in her adopted home of South Carolina. She earned her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and is an active member of the Contemporary Print Collective and the Taiwan Society of Printmaking.
